Dr. Amit Sharma is a graduate (M.B.B.S – 1995 batch) of Government Medical College, Kota, Rajasthan. He did his post graduation (D.N.B.) in General Medicine from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH), New Delhi. It was at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital that the foundation for his expertise in Rheumatology was laid. He did his research dissertation on patients of rheumatoid arthritis during his post-graduation.
His rheumatology skills were further enhanced by learning from legendary “Father of Rheumatology” in India, Prof. Anand N. Malaviya and his team at ISIC Superspecialty Hospital, New Delhi where he did three years super specialty (D.N.B.) training in rheumatology.
For an international experience of rheumatology, he did his post-graduate course in Rheumatology organized by European League against Rheumatism (EULAR) held at Naples, Italy and passed two-year “Certificate course on Rheumatic Diseases” certified by EULAR.
He has been awarded the “Young Scientist Award” for his research paper on rheumatoid arthritis at annual state API meeting, New Delhi, and the "Outstanding Student" award at silver jubilee celebrations of Government Medical College, Kota.
He has research publications in various peer-reviewed, indexed, international and national journals. He presented papers as a faculty member in various national conferences and state conferences. Dr. Sharma is a member of Indian Rheumatology Association (IRA), American College of Rheumatology (ACR) & EMEUNET (EULAR working group of young clinicians and researchers in rheumatology).
Dr. Amit Sharma has worked at Max Super Specialty Hospital, Delhi and
Metro Group of Hospitals, Noida as consultant rheumatologist in recent past.
Presently, he is working as Consultant Rheumatologist at
Fortis Escorts Hospital, Jaipur, Rajasthan (India) and holding the office of
Honorary Secretary, Indian Rheumatology Association (Rajasthan Chapter).
